Our client, the #1 selling super premium import beer in Canada and the USA, challenged us to help build an exceptional national commercial management team. The search yielded three executive commercial managers in three distribution centers across Canada. Targeted candidates had to fit the clients’ objectives for specific criteria and unique talent.

Our client is a leading company in brewing, distribution and sale of beer together in a joint venture partner to Canada’s leading brewing and marketing company.   The joint venture gave our client an excellent opportunity for growth in Canada, their second most important export market.   The Commercial Manager(s) are required to drive the achievement of sales volume, share and quality (P&L based) execution targets within set budget parameters, based on sales plans aligned with the company.   They needed individuals with specific category and territory knowledge who were also capable of interfacing with the joint venture partner sales teams across the country. We were engaged to source these individuals.

We met with the leadership team including the President, the regional directors and the human resource people development leader to cultivate a national strategy which incorporated working directly with each of the key decision maker to deliver top talent in the various regions.

We undertook a thorough search in each marketplace and presented candidates with leading industry, territory and competency experience.   The new Commercial Managers in each location had experience and expertise in field sales and key account management.  The position appealed to each successful candidate’s sense of challenge and reward.  Our success put in place a highly competent commercial team which was well-positioned to move the company forward in their growth objectives.
