WHITE RIBBON AD WINS INTERNATIONAL
AWARD
TORONTO, - Feb. 4, 2000 - A television public service announcement for the White Ribbon Campaign has been awarded a "Gold Moebius", one of the most prestigious international awards given to television advertising.
White Ribbon's agency, Grey Direct, produced the ad, which beat out thousands of other entries from around the world. The agency was previously awarded both a Silver award and a Certificate of Honourable Mention at the Canadian Marketing Association's RSVP Awards for the same campaign.
"This is the first time that Grey Canada has ever won a Gold Moebius," said Terence M. Donnelly, Executive Vice President at Mandrake Management Consultants in Toronto, and Chair of the White Ribbon Business Advisory Committee. "It is truly something to be celebrated for them and an exciting time for the White Ribbon Campaign."
Donnelly currently sits on the International Board of Directors of the White Ribbon Foundation, the largest effort in the world of men working to end men's violence against women.
The award was presented to Grey's Creative Team who conceptualized and produced the ad at the Congress Centre in Chicago. The ad also earns a place in the Advertising Hall of Fame, along with other winners of the award.
